Institute of Medical Genetics
Introduction
Institute of Medical Genetics provides highly specialized care for families and individuals with the presence or risk of congenital developmental anomalies, hereditary diseases, and conditions with a genetic predisposition.
The Institute is divided into several units (Genetic Counselling Clinic, DNA Laboratory, Cytogenetics and Cytogenomics Laboratory), which provide care at both regional and supra-regional levels within the EU. The units also fulfill teaching and research functions.
NOTICE
The Institute of Medical Genetics does not perform examinations during pregnancy, such as first-trimester screening and ultrasound examinations.
Since July 1, 2014, these examinations have been carried out at the Centre of Fetal Medicine of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, University Hospital Olomouc. For further information, please call +420 588 444 454.
CIA Accreditation
Since 2013, the laboratories of the Institute of Medical Genetics have been accredited for the examination of clinical material and laboratory diagnostics in accordance with ČSN EN ISO 15189.
